College Beat was established in 1999 and is funded through the University Student Union. College Beat TV is a student production company that informs students about issues affecting the campus community. Our goal is to create a level of awareness on a variety of topics by presenting them in an entertaining, appropriate and innovative manner. All areas of production are completed by students, making it a hands-on learning experience and providing professional development. College Beat produces "Beach Week” and “Beach Week Entertainment” weekly, a 30-minute show once a month, as well as a variety of media videos for ASI and the campus community. College Beat covers events that occur on campus, in the community, on the red carpet and even produces short films and commercials. College Beat can be seen on the University Channel 18, the Residential Halls channel 3, the University Student Union, and on Long Beach Charter Cable. All current students are invited to be a volunteer or intern for College Beat.  All majors are welcome to join. The best way to get started is to join us at our weekly meetings.
